Robin knew that Vivi's nervousness would attract attention. It was exactly what she wanted. She'd made sure to acquire an ornate wallet and stuffed it with larger than necessary bills. The people in this district were poor to the point of desperation. A couple of clueless, female foreigners would make a perfect target.

She ducked into the makeshift bar, took it in. A single, warped table with benches on both sides and a couple of folding chairs around the walls comprised the furniture in the room, though a modestly sized den-den mushi crooned the words to a local favorite near the back door. A haggard looking woman sat next to the mushi, holding a pitcher full of clear maroon liquid and blocking access into the rest of the house, who watched the raucous men with sharp eyes. She rose stiffly to her feet as Robin and Vivi entered. As for the crowd, Robin was surprised by how few there were. No more than ten men had gathered after work this day, though not many more than that would fit into the poorly lit room. As it was, the group had to slide in on one side to make room for the recently arrived ladies.

Robin ordered a couple of the homemade drinks, then made a show of pulling out her overstuffed wallet and asking in a loud voice if anyone had change, since the woman had shook her head in response to a quiet inquiry. When no one did, she huffed loudly, left a bill that would pay for a hundred drinks in the woman's hand, and stomped outside, making sure to weave a bit as she walked. She slowed, then, and hoped it would only be a matter of time before someone followed them out.
