Video & Text
Apr. 10th, 2010 07:30 pmGreat waves crash against the shoreline as the video pans up the beach, follows a line of scrub, then focuses on a red-maned giant reclining with his elbows propped up on a couple of trees. The giant simply watches, his face impassive. Robin shifts uncomfortably, jolting the video.
"I wonder if the video will record this," her voice is quiet, holding nothing of its usual arrogance. Then she cries out, "Saul! Can you hear me? It's me, the little girl you saved, Robin. I grew up, that's all."
The giant makes no indication that he's heard, he simply continues to stare blankly down in the general direction of the Thousand Sunny.
Robin's voice grows frantic. "Say something, Saul! This isn't like you! Laugh! Smile! Don't just stare at me frozen like-" Her voice catches in her throat. After a deep inhale, she murmurs the word "frozen" once again, and turns the camera around, searching for its shut off. The feed catches a few frames of her face, tears trickling down her cheeks, before blacking out.
I suppose it would be too much to ask, to be able to hear his ridiculous laugh one last time.
